Digital infrastucture
We are determined to see the Middle East’s 4th Industrial Revolution begin inside our zones and that is why we have equipped our investors with six-way telecommunications duct banks, redundancy networks, fully deployed 5G capabilities, and fiber-optic access points offering speeds of up to 1GBps.
But technology moves quickly, and we know just how costly legacy systems can get, which is why we always have one eye on the future. At QFZ we are continuously adapting to best serve our investors and with this in mind, we are always looking at how we can incorporate new high-potential technologies for our investors, including autonomous warehouses, drones, AI-based irrigation systems, and smart customs and insurance solutions.
Adopting these new technologies for use in the zones is made possible because we make sure our digital infrastructure is always at the cutting-edge of technology.
Logistics infrastructure and global connectivity
Strategically located among globally acclaimed Hamad International Airport and Hamad Port, Ras Bufontas and Umm Alhoul free zones are designed to support logistics clusters with DHL and GWC already established. Ras Bufontas, the airport free zones, will complement high value and time-sensitive products, while Umm Alhoul, the seaport free zone, will provide international freight forwarders access to the chemical, oil and gas, and heavy machinery industries.
Energy
QFZ offers its investors some of the world’s cheapest energy, starting at just 3.5 USD cents per kW/h. This makes our zones ideal for energy-intensive business operations in technology and industry. Because our energy is derived from natural gas, our energy is significantly cleaner than anything produced by oil or coal power stations.
