The Authority

The Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) is an independent authority created in 2018 to oversee and regulate the world-class free zones in Qatar, offering outstanding opportunities and benefits for businesses seeking to expand their global operations.

Investor Portal

The QFZ team are dedicated to enabling our investors’ growth and help facilitate everything from establishment to customs to permitting. The Investor Portal allows our investors to access, request and monitor their service requests.

The Port Free Zone at Umm Alhoul

Umm Alhoul Free Zone covers 32km and is situated near Hamad Port, the world’s largest greenfield port, providing an optimal location for industries which benefit from access to sea freight and shipping routes.

Each plot developer is required to comply with a 1-star minimum GSAS rating.

There is wireless internet access throughout the zones, as well as intelligent traffic monitoring.

The zones have been designed to incorporate additional smart technologies including smart waste bins, intelligent street lighting, addressable advertising panels and more.

MARSA

An exclusive hub for maritime activities, with access to the world’s largest greenfield port and unparalleled opportunities as part of Qatar’s growing free zones.

MARSA (Arabic for “anchor”) is a new maritime cluster in Qatar’s Umm Alhoul free zone, strategically located adjacent to Hamad Port, the world’s largest greenfield seaport, and only 20 minutes from Doha city center. MARSA, which has an 8.5 meter deep draught with 2 kilometers of quay wall, will service as a base for companies from around the world to conduct activities as diverse as ocean vessel building and repair, internal design and fit-out, ship provisions supply, safety training, boat brokerage and maritime research.

The Synchro Lift is designed to accommodate vessels of 70.0 meters LOA in length with a weight of 2,200 tonnes.
The Travel Lift is designed to accommodate vessels of 30.0 meters LOA in length with a weight of 300 tonnes.

Our Free Zones are built on connectivity which is why they are positioned 30 minutes from downtown Doha, and sit adjacent to Hamad Airport and Hamad deep-sea port, both award-winning transport hubs that connect you to the world.
