Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) participated as a Supporting Sponsor of the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg: UNGA Special Edition 2026, held in New York on September 20, ahead of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week.

QFZ’s delegation was led by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Free Zones Authority. The special edition brought together heads of state and government, global CEOs, investors and business leaders to examine the forces shaping global growth, investment and resilience under the theme “Growth on New Terms: Capital, Risk and Resilience.”

As part of its participation, QFZ co-hosted a dedicated Business Lounge with Invest Qatar and Qatar Financial Centre, bringing together key entities from Qatar’s investment ecosystem. The space provided an opportunity to engage with global business leaders and investors, showcase Qatar’s wider investment proposition and highlight opportunities available within the free zones for companies seeking to establish and expand their operations in Qatar and across the region.

QFZ’s participation also included a series of strategic agreements focused on localizing specialized manufacturing and service capabilities within Qatar’s free zones, particularly across the energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors, in support of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. The agreements aim to develop higher-value industrial activities, strengthen local capabilities and foster cross-border collaboration, innovation and knowledge transfer, advancing a more competitive and globally connected industrial ecosystem in Qatar.

QFZ’s sponsorship of the Forum reinforced its continued engagement with global investors and industry leaders. It also highlighted the role of Qatar’s free zones as a catalyst for investment, industrial development and international business growth.
