The Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) is an independent authority created in 2018 to oversee and regulate the world-class free zones in Qatar, offering outstanding opportunities and benefits for businesses seeking to expand their global operations.

QFZ was established in 2018 to develop and oversee Qatar’s new free zones. The Authority was established by Law No. (34) of 2005, as amended by Legislative Decree No. (21) of 2017.
QFZ is chaired by a government minister who leads an executive team that know their markets, and are committed to connecting companies with the opportunities they need to grow.
The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction and polices of the free zones, monitoring and enforcing compliance, as well as securing anchor investments. They also play a direct role in marketing and securing investments for the free zones.
