Mandate

QFZ was established in 2018 to develop and oversee Qatar’s new free zones. The Authority was established by Law No. (34) of 2005, as amended by Legislative Decree No. (21) of 2017.

The board is responsible for setting the strategic direction and polices of the free zones, monitoring and enforcing compliance, as well as securing anchor investments. They also play a direct role in marketing and securing investments for the free zones.
