Visiting French Business Delegation Briefed on Free Zones Investments Opportunities

A French business delegation from «MEDEF», held a meeting with senior officials at the Free Zones Authority – Qatar, to discuss investment opportunities and incentives offered to investors by the free zones.

Mr. Abdullah Hamad Al-Misnad, QFZA Deputy Executive Director chaired the meeting accompanied by senior officials in the authority. The French delegation was headed by Guillaume Pepy, Chairman of the French-Qatari Committee in MEDEF.

The discussions covered the important features and objectives of the free zones, Smart city solutions as well as free zone companies’ rules and regulations.

QFZA subject experts gave included detailed presentations on the logistics sectors, which represent the largest investment opportunities in the Middle East, as well as the chemical derivatives, which is one of the main resources in Qatar. The facility’s technical team provided detailed description of the facilities available in the free zones, followed by a presentation by “EGIS” – the French company responsible of the development work in Umm al-Houl Free Zone.

MEDEF is France’s largest employers’ union. Established in 1998, the organization has more than 750,000 member companies, 90% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. Each year, MEDEF International organizes visits for French business delegations to various countries to promote economic relations.
